Soy
Protein
Protein is made from building blocks called
"amino acids"
linked together in a chain. Of the 20 amino acids found in the body,
nine are "essential" because they have to be consumed in the diet (the
body can't make them). Soy protein is the only plant protein that is
"complete" because it contains all 9 essential amino acids in the right
balance for your body's needs. This makes soy a great substitute for
meats high in saturated fat and cholesterol. And, you don't have to
worry about genetic modifications because Revival Soy is made from
genetically-pure ("non-GMO") soybeans. Interestingly, the soybean is
the only vegetable with more protein than carbs!
Soy
Isoflavones
(
pronounced
“i-so-flay-vones” )
Soybeans are rich in many naturally-occurring
phytonutrients
including isoflavones and saponins. In combination with soy protein,
these phytonutrients are thought to play a critical role in the health
benefits of consuming soy.†
Isoflavones can be found in varying amounts in
legumes, such
as chick peas and lentil, but soybeans contain the highest natural
concentration of isoflavones. Soy contains three types of isoflavones:
Daidzein, Genistein and Glycitein. Each is found in different amounts
in the soybean and each has different properties.
